Author Awarded Faraday Medal
Professor Jenny Nelson FRS, author of the popular and influential textbook The Physics of Solar Cells, has been awarded the 2016 Faraday Medal by the Institute of Physics. The annual award is made in recognition of outstanding contributions to experimental physics. For Professor Nelson this was for her pioneering advances in the science of nanostructured and molecular semiconductor materials.
Professor Nelson is the third World Scientific author to have received this honour since the award began in 2008; in 2014 it was awarded to Professor Alexander Giles Davies (Advances in Nanoengineering: Electronics, Materials and Assembly), and in 2013 to Professor Edward Hinds (Laser Spectroscopy).
